BGP Basic

Which are two types of routing protocol
IGP or interior gateway protocol
EGP or exterior gateway protocol

Why we use IGP protocol
To exchange routing updates within same AS

What are the examples of IGP protocols
OSPF, RIP, EIGRP

What is EGP protocol
Used to exchange routing information between routers belonging to different autonomous system

Which is the EGP protocol
BGP

What is the main goal of BGP
To provide interdomain routing
Loop free exchange of routing information between autonomous system

What is an Autonomous System or AS
Set of routers under common administration

How can we exchange routing information within same AS
Using IGP protocols

Suppose we have two router r1 and r2. Both belong to different AS. R1 belong to AS 100 and R2  belong to AS 200. How can we exchange routing information between these two routers
Using BGP protocol

Which transport protocol and port number used by BGP
TCP as the transport protocol and port 179

We have following network

Which routing protocol can be run inside As 100, AS 200, AS 300 AS 400
We can run IGP protocol such OSPF, EIGRP, RIP inside AS autonomous system

Which routing protocol can we run between R1 and R6
BGP

We have ISP network
ISP network contain following client ABC university PQR university and XYZ enterprise

Which routing protocol can we run within ABC university or PQR university or XYZ enterprise
We can run IGP protocol within same domain or autonomous system
We can run EIGRP, OSPF or RIP

In the above ISP network ABC university and PQR university wants to have some form of communication. How can we achieve communication between two different universities
Using BGP

How can we achieve connectivity between two different ISP
Using BGP protocol
